The Challenge

A manufacturer of hydraulic filters (used primarily in aerospace applications) required a precision system to seam weld stainless steel mesh. The system needed to be flexible to accommodate filters ranging from 2" to 36" in length.

The Solution

Creative Automation designed and manufactured a special seam welder which utilized a standard tungsten inert gas torch and welding process. A specially designed clamping fixture with replaceable copper jaws was provided to accommodate the range of filter sizes.
